gasp! an isight-less post!

your nose is so cute.

with everything as hectic as it is, i’ve been reduced to updating from the emerson college admission visitor center. therefore, no fun isight photo today. instead, marvel at scott towers in “i sing!”
it feels like ages since i’ve documented the goings-on in my life! there’s just so much to tell! let’s do a list with gloriously boldfaced headings!

boston pride
i’ve been doing media stuff for boston pride, specifically lead designing materials for a dog-related event at faneuil hall pride day, as well as lead designing a poster for macy’s! that’s right, kids! i’m designing a pride poster that is set to hang in a window of every downtown macy’s in major cities across america! keep an eye out during pride week for my fabulous handiwork!!

talking tots atlanta
remember that time i had an incredibly fabulous cousin named alissa? right, well, i’ve designed her a rather fabulous website for her private speech pathology practice with her friend lisa. they’re kickass. if you ever find yourself living in atlanta with a child who has a speech disorder, give her a ring.

f.u.d.g.e. theatre company
lots of fun happening with the f.u.d.g.e. people! i’ve just finished designing the publicity for our upcoming production of “the house of blue leaves,” as well as being in the middle of production desiging for it. it’s a ton of fun, and everyone over at f.u.d.g.e. is absolutely incredible. i loves them. lots.

emerson college
oh yeah, i still go to school. you wouldn’t think so with all the shit i’ve got going on, but i still go to my four classes every tuesday/thursday from 10 am to 5:45 pm. those range from interesting and thought-provoking to wastes of time that fulfill gen ed requirements. i have a mid-term in “intro to christianity” tomorrow and it’s feeling more like a grad-level theology course. stephen um (professor of said course) makes me kind of want to die a little inside. but i don’t let it get me down too much. that mid term is the only major hurdle that stands between me and spring break, during which i get to do mindless work in the admission office, catch up majorly on my design work, spend copious amounts of time with jeremy and dolly, and just enjoy a week without the marathon of classes that i have.

miscellaneous life-related tidbits
so yes, several of these. most notably, i’m moving in with shannon rosa!! yes folks, it’s official! ivette and shannon have decided that i am to be their third roommate “in the asian style.” so stoked about that happening.

p.s. WICKED CONGRATULATIONS to shannon rosa. that’s all.

i suppose i’ll close out with my “i’m thankful for…” list…

  1. shannon rosa and ivette for being fabulous [future] roomies!
  2. boston pride and karthik for deeming me good enough to design the macy’s poster.
  3. the fact that my new ipod is so close i can smell it.
  4. mother and father for buying my march t pass for me. y’all’s fabulous.
  5. michelle currie for being at the encore tonight.

more than you wanted to know

kyle hemingway was born on a springly eve in may, after a grueling ordeal to get him out of the one thing he dreads most in life: the female anatomy. his mother and father raised him in a small town and has been pining to get out of that godforsaken place since he could walk. his father raised him on a strict upbringing of classical music, which was then peppered with his mother’s love of late 80’s pop and country. bach, beethoven, paula abdul, and randy travis are really all he can remember musically from growing up.

kyle soon blossomed into an awkward teenager at his coed private catholic high school. he was an avid fan of pencil-and-paper role playing games as well as two a.m. runs to dunkin donuts and painting. thank god, this phase was (in the long run) shortlived.

once kyle discovered musical theatre, there was no stopping his love affair and obsession with it for the rest of his life. his favorites include, but are not limited to, william finn’s a new brain; jrb’s the last five years, and anything by the amazing mr. stephen sondheim (with the exception of sunday in the park with george). he has appeared on stage in such roles as jesus in jesus christ superstar, the baker in into the woods, and created the role of pinocchio in an original musical adaptation of pinocchio.

kyle currrently attends the most amazing college in the world, where he studies digital/interactive media and performs whenever he’s allowed to. he is a student admission representative for the office of undergraduate admission, where he gives tours and answers phones, and all that jazz.  he also works as a lab assistant in the digital production lab on the eighth floor of the ansin building.  come spend your sunday nights with him and learn how to make websites.  it’s fun, i swear.

i don’t know what it is

graphic designer of your life.

so what if i wear my sweater vest too often? i like it. bitches.

happy belated valentines day, readers. i love you all like my own. except not.

my valentine’s day was exceptionally fabulous, it involved cards and tulips and candy and all those awful, cliche things about the holiday that are usually hard to stomach. it was fun.

last night was the encore with mary and brian. ’twas fabulous, per usual.

i’m very ADD right now.

watch more into the woods on youtube.

go long and get that long face lost!

whoa!

so it came to my attention that i never use any of the fun effects that come with photobooth so i decided to use the mirror one today. i think that the picture is sexy.

so i am supremely happy at the moment. here’s why:

last night i wrote my peg aloi paper (well, 8 dollars and 82 cents of it) while jeremy cooked us dinner. it was the most magical of evenings. then i woke up, came home, and decided to not go to stephen um this morning in order to finish the final dollar and 18 cents of my paper, which i did and then some! peg aloi paper’s final total: 10 dollars and 98 cents! woot. then i treated myself to a leisurely breakfast at the emerson college dining hall. it was nice. plus the lack of stephen um in my morning is amazing.

and that’s why i am supremely happy and today is fabulous.

today i’m thankful for:

  1. audra mcdonald. she’s making me happier.
  2. jeremy for the amazing dinner he made me last night. and the leftovers he may or may not have packed me for work tomorrow.
  3. the weather today, it may be freezing and windy but it’s sunny and beautiful otherwise.
  4. my peg aloi paper on modernism and twin peaks being done!
  5. the 4-day weekend ahead, getting me through the rest of this week.

yay for aliza ann!

aliza ann!

aliza ann is the most fabulousest person ever. and is not pretentious. at all.

i’m in the dpl, and it’s boring, and nobody’s here, and i just took a final cut workshop, and i helped people build a webpage, and i’m fabulous.

i can’t wait to leave though because it means i get to have thai with jeremy.

it’s going to be awesome.

mamma mia! here i go again!

just one look and i can hear a bell ring

so it’s been a while since i’ve updated, and that fact paired with the fact that i’m heavily procrastinating a short essay i have due for peg aloi on tuesday warrants an update!

anna nicole’s autopsy was inconclusive. this concerns me. the conspiracy is obviously much larger than any of us initially thought. shit! i think howard stern did it. he’s nothing with out her [money].

so today i realized how gay abba really is. abba is really gay. that’s all.

and now, via abba’s “gimme gimme gimme (a man after midnight)” i’ve segued into “hung up” by madonna (which samples the former). i’m a musical mess.

i just wrote my mother an email which took a little under 45 minutes to compile. it was simply a factual update of my life, with dates i might come home, suggestions for her to come up to boston to see me, and asking how the cat is. somehow that took me 45 minutes to write. dear lord.

thank god my mother listened to really gay music in my childhood. i’m not sure i would have discovered madonna or paula abdul otherwise.

tonight i’m going to see a new musical with the boys. it should be good. expect harsh criticism later.

i have no desire to go to stephen um’s class on tuesday. it makes me angry at life.

i need to keep reminding myself that regular pepsi is the devil and i’m only drinking it until diet becomes available again.

today i’m thankful for:

  1. my dad and the lovely phone call i had with him yesterday.
  2. jeremy (per usual), specifically the fantastic morning of peanut butter m&m’s and ugly betty we shared yesterday.
  3. my mother, for being savvy enough to copy the install files for microsoft word to her desktop so i can copy it over to my old powerbook for her (i will deny this compliment in the future).
  4. seeing shannon rosa TWICE in one day yesterday!
  5. seeing a new musical tonight. i adore new musicals. it gives me hope that not everything will be based on a movie or popular singing group for the rest of time (i can’t wait for the *nsync jukebox musical. can you?).

all i see’s american cheese, he’ll melt when you get hot

new polo shirt.

just killing time before his 4-8 shift at the dpl, kyle decides to blog.

last night jeremy and i made chili and cornbread. it was supremely sassy with sylvia. next time we should include sylvia’s restaurant’s collard greens: “they’re real good!” no joke. she’s my girl.

i’m tossing around in my mind whether or not i should audition for f.u.d.g.e.’s next show, “the house of blue leaves.” i’m a.) scared of doing a straight play, b.) scared of the time commitment, and c.) not sure i want to at this point. so yeah, lots to think about re: that.

i posted the photos that joey took from “i sing!” on flickr, check them out here.

so it’s the superbowl today. hooray. that’s about all i have there.

who’s playing, again?

today, i’m thankful for:

  1. the time that my job is going to afford me to get some work done.
  2. seeing dolly livingston tonight after work.
  3. my newly clean laundry.
  4. lovely little phone conversations with shannon rosa and jeremy today.
  5. not much work due for classes on tuesday.
